About LMD 2026

The 4th Conference on Luminescent Materials and Devices (LMD 2026) aims to bring together internationally recognized scientists working in the fields of luminescent materials, scintillators, radiation detectors, photonic materials, and advanced optical technologies including plasma. Organized under the auspices of the Luminescence and Display Materials Division of The Electrochemical Society (ECS-LDM), the conference provides a high-level international forum for presenting recent scientific advances, exchanging ideas, and establishing new collaborative research initiatives.

LMD 2026 places particular emphasis on strengthening scientific cooperation between Europe and Asia, promoting long-term partnerships among leading universities, research institutes, and industrial organizations. A key objective of the conference is to further deepen the well-established collaboration with the Polish luminescence community while expanding scientific interactions with researchers from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and other Asian countries active in luminescence, scintillation, and photonic materials research.

The scientific programme will consist of Keynote Lectures, Invited Talks, Oral and Poster contributions delivered by internationally recognized experts. The conference will provide an outstanding opportunity to discuss the latest developments in scintillators and radiation detectors, phosphors, persistent luminescence, rare-earth and transition-metal activated materials, optical spectroscopy, defects in solids, nanostructured and quantum materials, computational modelling, energy conversion, medical imaging, lighting, displays, sensing technologies, and other emerging applications of luminescent materials.

By bringing together leading researchers from academia, national laboratories, and industry, LMD 2026 aims to stimulate scientific discussion, strengthen existing collaborations, establish new international partnerships, and promote future joint research projects. The conference will also facilitate interactions between established scientists and early-career researchers, fostering the exchange of knowledge and experience across generations of the luminescence community.

The Organizing Committee warmly invites distinguished scientists from around the world to participate in the 4th Conference on Luminescent Materials and Devices (LMD 2026), to be held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 23–27 November 2026. We look forward to welcoming you for inspiring scientific discussions, productive collaborations, and an exceptional international networking experience.
